Photo Of The Day : “The Swamps Of Hawaii”

This scene struck me as one of those classic scenes you see in your head when you think of Hawaii. Yet another scene from the beautiful Waimea Falls in the North Shore of O’ahu, Hawaii.

Photo Of The Day: “The God Of Cool”

You never know what you are going to see in the Napa Valley wine country. Such as this awesome statue at the Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. This was spotted during the annual April in Carneros event. Can anyone tell me which greek god this is?

Photo Of The Day: “The Machine”

I figured B-Wheezy need some love after his rough outing on Easter Sunday. This is Brian Wilson of the San Francisco Giants warming up in the bullpen on April 13th 2011. Wilson pitched a perfect 9th to save a 4-3 win over the hated Los Angeles Dodgers. GO GIANTS!

Photo Of The Day “Only In San Francisco – The Naked Man Bicycle Club”

“Only In San Francisco– The Naked Man Bicycle Club”

On Saturday, April 23rd, we took our buddy Sean to the San Francisco Giants game to celebrate his birthday. While having a pregame lunch at Tres Agaves restaurant, we were surprised when we looked out the window in front of our table to the site of a couple gentleman riding bicycles in nothing more than helmets and shoes. Now this was funny, yet we were very hungover from the night before, not to mention a mouth full of Mexican food, so it was also slightly sickening. After a couple seconds, they were gone. Now, the photographer in me was pretty bummed about missing this very uniquely San Francisco photograph. But to my luck, while we were standing out front after lunch, more bikers! After getting a great photo of my buddy Tom in front of the the merry nude bicyclist, I was able to snap this classic San Francisco photograph.

Photo Of The Day “Viva Las….New York?”

“Viva Las….New York?”

Las Vegas, Nevada has something for everyone. Tons of craps tables for the gamblers (me) with tons of free drinks and bars for the people who love a nice cold cocktail (me). Amazing pools for those who want to relax in the hot sun and work on their tan (me). And unique and awesome structures that a photographer can have a field day with (me). Looks like I am moving to Vegas!

Photo Of The Day “The Fiddle And The Shoe”

“The Fiddle And The Shoe”

I LOVE photographing live bands. It can be very difficult, but extremely rewarding. Capturing the raw emotion in the musicians while they jam, the cool lighting, the crown keeping the beat to the music by clapping, stomping and……..playing chopsticks?

Yes, pounding on anything they can find with chopsticks. This is how The Brothers Comatose likes it. They hand out chopsticks to everyone in the crowd and encourage off beat noise making, soley for the love of crowd participation. This is Folk/Bluegrass music at it’s fiddle flying finest!

If you have never heard of these guys, check out one of their vids (and my favorite song) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9rbeluKycU

Disclaimer: The beards are much bushier these days

And become a fan of theirs on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/thebrotherscomatose?sk=info

If you can’t tell from this video why I love photographing these guys in action, then you need to come see it in person

Photo Of The Day: “The Ring Of Kerry River”

The Ring Of Kerry in Ireland is one of those amazing places you don’t really think ACTUALLY exists until you find yourself driving down to the thin, 2 lane highway with nothing around you except lush green vegetation and sheep. You come to the coastline and are just blown away by the rugged cliffs, pounding surf, and driving gale force winds. This is an amazing drive, and my only regret is that we did it too quick! If you ever find your self in Ireland, make sure to drive the Ring Of Kerry!

This HDR photograph was taking shortly after entering the Ring Of Kerry. I do not know what river that is. Anyone know?

A big advantage of being a full time photographer, is having the pleasure of working with amazing people and awesome companies. One such company I have been working with in 2011 is Commodore Events. They own 6 beautiful charter yachts that have both public dinner cruises, as well as private charters. What better place to get married than on the top deck of a 6 million dollar yacht at dawn on a warm, still summer night, right in front of the Golden Gate Bridge with the sun setting behind you? I can’t think of many! Than afterwards, while cruising the bay for the reception party, you get to see amazing views such as this one! And don’t forget, you need an amazing wedding photographer to go with this amazing wedding! Wink, wink =)

This is an old photo. A couple of years I believe. Since I have been super busy with some photography projects I have to finish, I haven’t had much time for my “personal” photography. =( So I realized I had never made this a photo of the day. So, here it is!

I took this with a 400+mm focal length from downtown Tiburon CA.

Photo Of The Day “Grazing Pony”

My “9-5” job is that I photograph real estate listings here in the San Francisco Bay Area for a visual marketing company. I received notification of a new listing that needed my services in Point Reyes. Getting a job in West Marin is not very common, so I was very excited.  I love West Marin, but don’t get out there enough. So I decided to make a day out it. Sunset on a deserted beach in Point Reyes? Yes please! Well, todays photo is not said sunset, but it is instead a cute little horse I saw on the road on by Nicasio.
