Photo Of The Day : “Top Of The Mark”

I know I haven’t had many “Photo Of The Day” posts lately. This hotel project has been kicking my butt hard. 8-12 hours of straight shooting per day, not including any processing! As stressful as it can be, every day I look at an amazing view like this, and I am quickly reminded that I have THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD! This is taken from the “Top Of The Mark” restaurant and bar, on the top level of the Mark Hopkins hotel in San Francisco, California

Photo Of The Day “Bay Bridge Sunset”

Have I said how much I love working for Commodore Events? Part of my job requires me to be on boats in the middle of the San Francisco Bay on beautiful May days with amazing sunsets falling behind the Bay Bridge. Life is rough. I am actually very happy I was able to get this photo as clear as it is, since the very choppy condition of the water made for an incredibly difficult shoot. This was probably the most challenging shoot of my career, but obviously, well worth it!

Photo Of The Day : “The Swamps Of Hawaii”

This scene struck me as one of those classic scenes you see in your head when you think of Hawaii. Yet another scene from the beautiful Waimea Falls in the North Shore of O’ahu, Hawaii.

Photo Of The Day: “The God Of Cool”

You never know what you are going to see in the Napa Valley wine country. Such as this awesome statue at the Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. This was spotted during the annual April in Carneros event. Can anyone tell me which greek god this is?

Photo Of The Day : “Hawaiian Hibiscus”

Knowing that I was only going be in Hawaii for 72 hours, I had this grand vision of waking up in the morning, going straight out to the beach, setting up shop, drinking margaritas, mai thais, and beers all day and lighting a bonfire at night and not moving until it was time to go to bed. Or just sleep on the beach. Why not? Well imagine my shock and disappointment when it rained about 66 of the 72 hours I was there! But what started as disappointment quickly turned into a sense of gratefullness, as we may not have gone to the beautiful Waimea Falls. This park is filled with everything a photographer could ask for. Birds, flowers, trees, rivers, waterfalls. It was paradise! This is a hibiscus, still wet from the last brief rainfall.

Photo Of The Day “Viva Las….New York?”

“Viva Las….New York?”

Las Vegas, Nevada has something for everyone. Tons of craps tables for the gamblers (me) with tons of free drinks and bars for the people who love a nice cold cocktail (me). Amazing pools for those who want to relax in the hot sun and work on their tan (me). And unique and awesome structures that a photographer can have a field day with (me). Looks like I am moving to Vegas!

Photo Of The Day : “Easy Tacheles”

First, before today’s photos, take a look at a previous post explaining what exactly Tacheles in Berlin is.

https://bonocorephotography.wordpress.com/2010/11/28/daily-photo-tacheles-welder/

Anyway, work is busy busy busy. I find myself with rarely any free time to go through and process my own personal photos, since I spend most of my day photographing client’s needs and processing and delivering the photos they pay me for. It started to occur to me that I probably have processed only about 5% of my photos from Europe. I went to Europe 6 months ago!  Well, as I tried to add more photos to my external hard drive this week, I was greeted with a “This computer can not read this hard drive” Uh oh. Then after numerous attempts, the drive just stopped running. Great. So, I am facing the possibility of EVERYTHING on that drive being lost INCLUDING all my Europe photos. Looks like I need to move to the cloud.

Chances are though, its just a mechanical failure with the device and the data is intact. I just need to pay someone a boatload for “data recovery“. So all this reminded me of Europe, so I decided to share a photo from the amazing artist community of Tacheles. This was from the same room as the welder I shared above. It took about 5 minutes standing in this spot before I was able to get a brief couple of seconds with no on in the frame. This place is amazing. If you are ever in Berlin, you MUST GO!

Photo Of The Day : The Empty Road Of Kerry”

Sorry for the lack of photo sharing. I have had a pretty rough couple of weeks. But I am back, and motivated to work!

There are miles upon miles of roads in the Ring of Kerry in the Irish country side where you will not see one other car, or really much of anything besides luscious foliage and beautiful coastline. This is one such stretch, right above the pounding surf hundreds of feet below. The Irish country side is amazing. The 2 days spent exploring it was about 28 days too few

Photo Of The Day: “Jailed City…….with a Sailboat!”

“Jailed City…….with a Sailboat!”

This may look very similar to another photo I have buried here in my Landscape Photography Portfolio. It is called “Jailed City” You can see it here

http://www.mb-photography-sf.com/Landscapes/Landscape/11161093_TQL9m#805715204_UUPfT-A-LB

I took that a couple of years ago. Anyway, last week, I decided to revisit Tiburon, California to take some new photos. The water, clouds and the sky looked VERY alike the day I took “Jailed City” When I saw this sailboat coming from stage left, I decided to try to recreate that photo, but this time, with a nice, happy sailboat blocking Alcatraz Prison!

Photo Of The Day : “The Birds”

The Birds

One must think you might see alot of strange things on California Interstate 5 at 7 AM. Well, one would be right! At a rest stop somewhere in the middle of no where, the sky became warm with the rising sun, and then, out of nowhere THOUSANDS of birds came flying and squawking across the morning sky. It was an amazing site. I had NEVER seen this many birds in one flock in my life. It took over 1 minute for the entire flock to fly over our heads. It was truly awesome! So anyway, all those black spots in this photo isn’t “noise”, it’s thousands of birds!

I also took video of this awesome scene. You can see it here
