Photo Of The Day : “Silhouette Soldier”

This is the statue of Joseph Jacques Césaire Joffre was a French Catalan general during the First World War, outside École Militaire (Military School), near the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. I happened to be there at the perfect time where the sun was slowing setting right behind the statue. BTW, Can you find the bird?

Photo Of The Day : “Prince Charles And The Day Of Remembrance”

In my opinion, America should be ashamed at their Veterans Day activities. There are some parades and some small ceremonies, but after seeing how England commemorates Remembrance Day, I am saddened by how little America recognizes this very important day to honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. In England, there is a 2 week build up to the weekend activities, which happened throughout this weekend. There is a huge parade, many monuments, thousands of reaves, flowers and crosses all throughout the city. The entire city of London stops at 11:00 AM for a minute of silence. While touring the city with Rod, we stumbled into a Mounted Calvary Museum, which was buzzing with mounted soldiers on Horseback, a military band, and a couple hundred people gathered around. The band started playing, and a motorcade pulled up. The door opens, and out walks Prince Charles! He lays a wreath at the base of the monument, which is then followed by another minute of silence, another song and just like that, it was over. A pretty lucky side trek off the main road if you ask me! I also love how I got the blurred female police officer in the foreground checking out the Prince
