Photo Of The Day : “Silhouette Soldier”

This is the statue of Joseph Jacques Césaire Joffre was a French Catalan general during the First World War, outside École Militaire (Military School), near the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. I happened to be there at the perfect time where the sun was slowing setting right behind the statue. BTW, Can you find the bird?

Photo Of The Day “Riders On The Storm”

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a triumphal arch in Paris, located in the Place du Carrousel on the site of the former Tuileries Palace. It was built between 1806-1808 to commemorate Napoleon‘s military victories of the previous year. The more famous Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile nearby was designed in the same year, but it took thirty years to build, and it is about twice as massive.

It took me about 30 minutes to figure out what this was a photo of! I knew it looked great, mysterious, and old. But I had no idea what it was. I had sworn it was by the Eiffel tower, but after some detailed research, I found this was in fact, just outside of the Le Louvre

Daily Photo: “A Night At The Museum”

The Louvre in Paris is a true marvel. The sheer size of this museum is mind blowing. I did not get a chance to go in, but I have heard of people going every day for a week, and only seeing about half of the museums many wings and exhibits. The detail in the buildings and the grounds is beautiful, and does not appear to have changed much since the early 1600’s. This is a shot of the Louvre Plaza at night.
